Symphony concert

Russian-born Victor Yampolsky will conduct the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra at the Cape Town City Hall tonight with 16-year-old violinist Avigail Bushakovitz as the soloist.

The programme includes Sibelius's Valse Triste, the Bruch

Swinging in Stellenbosch

Band for Life performs at the Oude Libertas Amphitheatre, Stellenbosch, on Sunday at 6pm. Singer Leslie Kleinsmith will be joined by Andrew Ford on piano, Stuart Goodwin on saxophone and clarinet, Jan Hough on bass and Maurice Gawronsky on drums and percussion as they pay tribute to the swing greats.
